About FITRA

""

FITRA stands for "The Federation of Inverclyde Tenants and Residents Associations"

The Federation is the "umbrella" group of member associations. We are recognised by Inverclyde Council as the main negotiating body on tenants issues.

FITRA was set-up in 1999 by tenants and residents in Inverclyde to allow them to have a say in the management of their housing. We are becoming a major driving force behind all housing activity and are being consulted in major matters relating to housing.

We are linking with other community groups to help provide better services for tenants in the Inverclyde community.

What we do

1. Help set up new tenants and residents associations

2. Support established tenants and residents associations

3. Link tenants locally and nationally

4. Provide resources such as computers & photocopying

5. Run training sessions

6. Support tenants in their campaigns
