The Role of The Committee
Committee members are an elected body of people who undertake to run the business of a group for a fixed period of time – usually one year.
Its duty is to keep the group operating towards its aims as laid out in the Constitution, to be fair and impartial in all of its dealings, and not to expect preferential treatment by virtue of being a committee member.
By its’ very nature, a committee will be made up of people from different social backgrounds experiences and abilities. This should not be detrimental to the committee, providing that members recognise the differences between them, respect others abilities and work together to further the aims of the group.
