Start - Up Grants

When a steering group has been formed, it would be useful to contact Inverclyde’s Tenant Liaison Officer who will be able to assist the group with:

1. A room for meetings

2. Photocopying

3. Refreshments for meetings

4. Stationary

5. Reasonable transport to and from meetings

There may be other things, which the Tenant Liaison Officer can help with, in the early stages. If in doubt, Ask. Once there is an elected group of representatives (a Committee), they may want to apply for a Start - Up grant.

In order to apply, the group must meet the recognition criteria and have an idea what they need the grant for, i.e.;

- Stationary items

- Postage and telephone calls

- Baby sitting / child care costs

- Membership fees (e.g. Tenants Information Service, the Tenant Participation Advisory Service)

- Training costs

- Refreshments at meetings

- Travel expenses for attending tenant meetings in other areas.

How Do You Claim Your Start up grant?

Discuss your requirements at a committee meeting and then talk to the Tenant Liaison Officer. Simply fill in the grant application form and return it to the Tenant Liaison Officer.
